Loibner/Nourani english deutsch
Matthias Loibner & Tahereh Nourani create sound spaces from ideas and stories. Their compositions and improvisation concepts are often based on dual, polar or symbiotic phenomena such as the relationship of the individual to the masses, the living being to the habitat or microcosm versus macrocosm, which are always stylistically unlocatable reflected in different musical parameters.
Tahereh Nourani is a composer and sound artist focusing on electro-acoustic and experimental music. In her work, she explores the potential of slowness and silence as well as the connection between sound, text and video. Using free improvisation, extended playing techniques, amplified objects and field-recordings, she creates reduced, organic and archaic sound spaces that span an arc between ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Memory Response) and noise.
Matthias Loibner is constantly travelling through styles and epochs with his hurdy-gurdy and in doing so has sustainably expanded the horizons of his instrument. By playing all groups of strings of the originally medieval instrument equally for melodically bowed, plucked or noisy sounds, which are processed independently in a digital setup, partly in asynchronous loops, Matthias Loibner creates timeless aural images, derived from a large repertoire between classical music, electronics, tradition and imagination.
